About Iam254 — Who We Are & What We Stand For | Kenya 2027

We work for the voter — not the voted.

Iam254 is a non-partisan civic movement. We exist to inform Kenyans truthfully about leadership, governance, and the power they already hold as voters — so they can judge for themselves, decide independently, and act. That's the whole job. Everything below is how we keep it that way.

Who we are

The short version

Iam254 is a non-partisan civic movement of citizens working for the political public good.

We focus on the voter: the person, not the politician. Our aim is a citizen independent enough to make their own choice at the ballot — whether or not anyone has tried to bribe, entice, or sway them. We are a civic movement, not a political one. That distinction is deliberate, and everything else rests on it.

254

Why "254"? It's Kenya's international dialing code. The name reads as a civic identity statement — I am Kenya — a way of saying this movement belongs to citizens, not to any political camp.

What we are not

Lines drawn on purpose

These boundaries protect our credibility and our independence. They aren't negotiable.

✕
We are not a campaign forum or a political platform.
✕
We seek votes for no one, and we endorse no candidate.
✕
We are not a voice for any politician.
✕
We are not a voice for any political party.
✕
We can't be hired to advertise a politician or advance a party's ideals.
✕
We don't name or attack individuals — we critique trends and behaviours, never a person.

Our values

How we behave, not just what we believe
1

Value every human being

Everyone we meet, whether we agree with them or not, has intrinsic worth. We won't insult, demean, dehumanise, belittle, or condescend — not even to those who do it to us.

2

Tell the truth

We're not trying to be popular. We inform truthfully and let the public judge. Every figure we publish is verified first; unverified claims are flagged, not asserted. Truth over applause, every time.

3

Calm, cool, and collected

Our responses are thought through — never given in anger or on the spur of the moment. Truth is communicated in good faith. How we respond is the hallmark of who we are.

4

Team

The movement belongs to everyone who shares our ideals, values, and message — not to any one of us. When we find content that fits what we stand for, we amplify it.

How we stay independent

The source of our credibility

We accept support — never strings.

Our independence depends on staying free to tell the truth. We welcome support from people and organisations who share our ideals, on one strict condition: they don't get to shape or buy what we say. The day funding comes with strings on our message, we decline it. That single rule is what makes our independence real rather than merely claimed.

No endorsements No party allegiance No message-for-hire Verified before published

The line we watch

Civic good vs. party politics

Our work sits close to a line, so we name it plainly and never cross it by accident. Every piece of content has to be verified, principle-based rather than aimed at any person or community, and impossible to repurpose as a push to vote for one side.

This is our work — civic good
This is not — party politics
Telling people their vote carries real weight.
Telling people which candidate or party to vote for.
Explaining how governance and accountability work.
Campaigning for or against a named politician.
Naming a trend or behaviour that has failed the nation.
Naming or attacking any individual.
Proposing and debating solutions on their merits.
Soliciting votes for a candidate or party.

The test: if a piece of content still makes sense and stays fair regardless of which candidate or party the audience supports — even when it argues for a specific solution — it belongs to us. If it only works as a push to vote for one side, it doesn't.

Who's behind it

Stewardship
Iam254 is guided by a founding team of Kenyans who care about the country's future, with creative and production support from KaziBora Digital. But the movement isn't ours to own — it belongs to everyone who shares its values and message. If that's you, the best thing you can do is simple: get informed, stay independent, and vote.

The point of all of this

Everything we do comes down to one thing: you, walking into the polling station in 2027 knowing more than you did — and deciding for yourself. Start by confirming you're on the roll.
