Can I register to vote before I turn 18?
No. You must be an adult citizen to register as a voter, and the Constitution defines an adult as someone aged 18 or over.
Article 83 says a person qualifies for voter registration if they are an adult citizen, have not been declared of unsound mind, and have not been convicted of an election offence in the past five years. Article 260 defines an adult as someone who has reached 18.
